The Savvy Cook is filled with recipes for the time and money poor. They’re all quick, and really quite cheap.
There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options, simply by swapping out milk or other products which can be swapped straight out. You could also add meat to many of the vegetarian meals that it would suit. There’s loads of variety, with all meals and lots of occasions covered. There’s also lots of ways to use those same recipes, in different meal combinations.
All of the recipes are easy to follow, and many of the ingredients are common throughout the book, so you can use them a lot. They are classic, cheap items you can find at the supermarket and keep for a long time. There are lots of fresh ingredients in the recipes, but the base of all recipes could be kept in your pantry and fridge for a long time. This cookbook is meant for those who are both time and money poor, so ingredients that can be kept on hand and never go to waste are very handy. Their used throughout the book and leftovers can be used on other recipes.
