A new year always makes me want to have a bunch of new pieces for my work wardrobe. I like versatile workwear pieces that I can easily mix and match when I’m running out of time in the morning.
1. ASOS V Neck Mono Colour Block Blouse // 2. ASOS Structured Shopper Bag With Removable Clutch // 3. New Look Pointed Block Heel Boot 4. ASOS TALL Jersey Peg Trousers with Draw Cord Waist in Mono Grid Check // 5. ASOS CURVE Crepe Dress With Obi Wrap // 6. ASOS CURVE Shirt Dress in Geo Stripe with Half Placket // 7. ASOS CURVE Clean Waist And Hip Belt // 8. New Look Bow Ballerina Flat // 9. New Look Inspire Sleeveless Tailored Jacket
Monochrome is always an easy option. Everything goes together pretty well and you can add colours and other patterns as you like. I also find that you can wear monochrome items more often without it seeming like you’re always wearing the same outfit.
I like to have lots of dressy pieces, then I can add more casual items on more comfy days. I find it easiest to have three options, both a pair of ankle boots and ballet flats, plus maybe another pair of shoes for casual Fridays.
I recommend always going for fabrics that won’t need ironing, and as much as possible, can go in the dryer if need be.This cuts out the weekly and last minute ironing or steaming sessions.
I accessorise my workwear with a simple bag that will hold an A4 notebook, but also some personal items, a drink bottle and maybe even my lunch. Then I’ll maybe wear a watch or some rings. Some days I’ll just wear a necklace. I tend to avoid bracelets at work though. The clanging of a bangle against the desk drives me bonkers.
Experiment with what you love and find your happy medium of dress code, comfort and style.
